How these guides get made

Most cost content on the internet is a national average with a city name pasted in. This site exists to do better for the Treasure Valley, and this page explains the method — including where AI is involved, because it is.

The method

• Real sources, cited on the page. Price ranges are calibrated from published local and national sources; each guide lists them at the bottom. If a number has no source, it doesn't ship.
• Ranges, not fake precision. A roof doesn't cost "$12,347." It costs a range that depends on pitch, layers, and material — so that's what we publish, with the factors that move it.
• AI-assisted drafting, human-verified facts. We use AI tools to assemble drafts from a fact sheet we research first. Every figure, permit rule, and claim is checked against its source before publishing — by a person, on the cited page. Claims that can't be verified get cut.
• Updated dates are real. The date at the top of a guide is the last time its facts were actually reviewed, not a script bumping a timestamp.
• No fake bylines. There is no invented "Sarah, roofing expert since 1998." Guides are published by QuestTracking, Quest Collective LLC, Meridian, Idaho.
